We are pleased to announce that Carlo Schmid has joined the Advisory Board of ETA Club St.Gallen.
Carlo is the Founder and General Partner of Lineage, the first institutional search fund investor based in Germany, and a Co-Founder of Searchers Hub, the home for Europe's ETA community. He brings a rare combination of investment, entrepreneurial, and family-business experience to the ETA ecosystem.
Carlo began his career in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (at 20 years old!), before stepping into the operator's seat to lead his family's healthcare business. He then spent close to a decade at Cherry Ventures, one of Europe's leading early-stage venture firms, where he focused on healthcare, fintech and climate investing, helped open the firm's Nordic market, and worked closely with founders on scaling, value creation and financing as the firm grew from €150M to over €1B in assets under management.
During his MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management, he co-founded Kombuchery, which became Germany's leading kombucha brand. In 2024 he founded Lineage, a "fund of searchers" that closed oversubscribed at its €25M hard cap and has since backed more than a dozen succession entrepreneurs across Europe and the United States. Recognising how nascent the European search fund scene still was, he co-initiated Searchers Hub, which has grown into a community of more than 700 searchers, operators and investors across eight European cities.
Carlo holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
